I’m much more familiar with religions in the United States and I’m only basing the information you’re about to read off of my interactions with these people. Why do so many religious followers replaced faith with facts?
I was raised a Christian and believed in Christianity until I was around 16 years old and by the time I was 18 years old, I was convinced that this was a religion based on faith without evidence. When I use the word evidence, I’m not talking about someone who believes that God created the earth and then reaches down into the ground, grabs a handful of soil and tells me to look at this with awe and amazement, because there are specific God created it.
I’m also not talking about religions all over the world that have convinced their followers to believe in a religion that might have been created by man. I’m tired of people telling me that the evidence is with in certain religious books and scriptures.
Evidence is something that we can look at and possibly touch and examine. It’s hard to think of the millions of people out there today who live all over the world and have never even questioned their religious beliefs. They continue to live their lives like farm animals, going in this direction one day and another direction the next.
My ancestors were extremely religious followers of Christianity and were upset that I wasn’t following their course. I couldn’t follow something, simply because someone told me that the information written in the Bible is true. Just because someone tells you something is true, are you going to believe them or simply put this information in the back of your mind, until it can be proven or disproven?
Too many people today, accept things as the truth from their religions, workplace, educational system, family, legal system and one of the worst manipulators of truth throughout history, world governments. Faith that things will get better offers hope that our children will have better lives, but this won’t happen until we band together and correct what’s broken.
I’m not talking about all the other problems in the world, I’m talking about the injustice in world religions. I’m right and you’re wrong type of thinking. The mental and physical demands from your religion, so that your kind of people will be guaranteed something after death. Religious textbooks that are going to find themselves outdated as more people demand evidence in the future.
The next time that I ask a Christian a question about the Bible that can’t be proven and they give me an answer, like it’s a fact, they should make it perfectly clear that the information they are about to give me isn’t supported by satisfactory scientific evidence and could actually be hearsay.
This is where faith comes in and without the word faith, we probably wouldn’t have very many religions. It’s easier to convince someone by promising something to them than it is to provide the evidence and proof.
The promise to most religious followers that there is going to be an afterlife or that they will be reincarnated can keep a lot of people faithful to that particular religion. The penalties of sin or disobedience can create fearful followers and it’s much easier to control someone who’s afraid than it is to control someone who isn’t.
I would like to send a special warning to every religion all over the world who has chosen to replace satisfactory proof with faith, your days could be numbered. The questions are getting harder to answer and they’re starting to be asked by more people.
